Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Architect in Boston, MA to lead a small team on multifamily housing projects with a hybrid work arrangement. You will coordinate with designers, consultants, contractors, and owners, manage technical documentation, and ensure code compliance across disciplines.

The role requires 7–10+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), and a Registered Architect with CPHC a plus. Hybrid schedule with two projects on average and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in architecture is required; Master’s preferred.
• 7–10+ years of professional experience in architecture.
• Registered Architect preferred; CPHC is a plus.
• Experience with wood-frame over steel/concrete podium construction helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical coordination and scheduling of projects.
• Oversee technical documentation aspects of the project.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines and design-assist subcontractors.
• Respond to RFIs and review submittals and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the technical coordination and scheduling of projects.
• Oversee the technical documentation aspects of the project.
• Engage in ongoing coordination with engineering disciplines and design-assist subcontractors.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Review and coordinate submittals and shop drawings.
• Coordinate and detail technical solutions to support design intent.
• Interface with regulatory authorities and inspectors concerning code compliance.
• Interface with owner-provided inspectors and project managers concerning quality control.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Revit Architecture in a shared BIM environment.
• Strong skills in construction document detailing and architecture.
• Experience with building codes and multifamily construction.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD.
• Exceptional scheduling, staff, and time management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture degree required; Master of Architecture degree preferred.
• 7-10+ years of professional experience.
• Registered Architect preferred.
• Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) is a plus.
• Working knowledge of wood frame over steel/concrete podium construction and associated architectural detailing.
• Experience providing Design and Construction Administration services.
• Experience with local and state building codes and tested life safety features.
• Experience with exterior envelope systems from design through construction completion.
• Proficiency in Revu Bluebeam PDF drawing coordination software.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid schedule, allowing you to work from home one day a week, except on Mondays. The firm focuses on multifamily projects, primarily affordable and passive housing, typically juggling around two projects at a time. Join a small, dedicated team of 16 professionals, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Boston, MA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
