Job summary

Toastmasters International, a renowned educational nonprofit, seeks a Project Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and ERP-related initiatives. You will liaise between Finance, IT, and external vendors, and support month-end close, reconciliations, and audits.

The role is hybrid (some remote days, typically 3 per week on-site in Englewood, CO). Requires 4-year degree in accounting or related field and 3–4+ years in GL and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Accounting or Business with accounting concentration.
• 3-4+ years experience in general ledger, month-end close, and account analysis.
• 3-4+ years experience working with ERP or financial systems.
• Results-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance contributions to IT development work, including testing plans and timelines.
• Review data for GAAP compliance and accuracy of journal entries and reports.
• Validate journal entries, financial reports, and payment processing for accuracy.
• Provide solutions for project risks and accounting issues; coordinate testing of new accounting functionality.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations; support ERP initiatives.
• Serve as Finance liaison for projects and provide regular updates to leadership.
• Assist with year-end audit requests and department budgets; cross-train as needed.

Summary

The Project Accountant supports financial reporting, accounting systems, and ERP-related initiatives by serving as a key liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors. This role helps ensure project deliverables meet accounting requirements, financial data remains accurate, and system changes are properly tested and validated. The position also supports month-end accounting activities, reconciliations, audits, and process improvements that strengthen the efficiency and reliability of the Finance function.

• Lead all finance and accounting-related contributions to IT development work, includingdeveloping testing plans,maintainingproject timelines for the Financedepartment, and tracking the progress of deliverables
• Review financial data to ensure it followsgenerallyacceptedaccountingprinciples(GAAP)
• Independently review,test, andvalidatejournalentries, financial reports, and payment processing for accuracy
• Provide solutions for identifiedproject risks, delays, resource concerns, and potential accounting issues
• Coordinate user testing and validation of new accounting functionality
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Serve as Finance liaison for all assigned projects
• Provide regular project updates to all levels of leadership
• Support ERP, accountingsystem, financial reporting, and technology-related initiatives
• Complete and analyze data reconciliation and accuracy during system conversions
• Review existing accounting workflows andidentifyopportunities to improve efficiency
• Help standardize accounting processes across departments and business entities
• Assistwith year-end audit requests
• Support with department budgets, as needed
• Cross-train and act as backup for other Finance team members
• Other duties as assigned by management

Pay Range

This is a hybrid role, with some days remote and some days on-site (typically 3 per week) in our office at 9127 S. Jamaica St., Englewood, CO 80112. When working in the office, we follow CDC guidelines.
