Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Project Accountant to join our manufacturing-focused finance team.

You will serve as the financial gatekeeper for project revenues, costs, and margins, and partner with project teams to improve profitability and compliance with GAAP. Ideal candidates have finance or accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.

Qualifications

• Relevant financial or accounting experience (preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, dashboards).
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the financial gatekeeper for project revenues, costs, and margins.
• Provide project finance support, oversight, and analysis to local offices and the region.
• Ensure appropriate project set-up in compliance with finance department guidelines and GAAP.
• Review and analyze project forecasts and ensure revenues and margins are accurately forecasted; enter forecasts into ERP.
• Review and approve monthly project revenue/cost recognition following GAAP.
• Prepare, review, and issue client invoices; work with clients and A/R for timely collections.
• Analyze project risks and recommend profitability improvements to the project accounting manager.
• Track project labor and expenses; advise on budget variations and recommendations.
• Track and audit travel and expense expenditures for policy compliance.
• Ensure compliance with client agreements, billing policies, and internal financial policies.
