Job summary

ESCO Group is seeking a Project Accountant for the ESCO Electric team in Marion, Iowa. You will manage project financials, set up customer jobs, prepare invoices, and monitor WIP and cost data to support project managers.

This full-time, on-site role requires an Associate’s degree in accounting and 2+ years’ project accounting experience, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows operating systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting or related discipline from an accredited college, technical school or university.
• Two or more years of related work or industry experience.
• Combination of education and experience will be considered with evidence of success.
• Two years of experience in Project Accounting functions.
• Knowledge of discounts, interest, sales tax, and percentages.
• Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Set up customer jobs in the accounting system accurately and timely.
• Facilitate cost accounting meetings with Project Managers to review cost data and update notes.
• Prepare and post project accounting adjustments by updating estimates, changes, and POs.
• Initiate time and material moves as needed.
• Prepare customer invoices using unbilled WIP, purchase orders, and material invoices.
• Send weekly time reports to customers and review sales and use tax issues.
• Close customer jobs on completion and maintain assigned accounts.
• Communicate with internal and external customers regarding outstanding issues.
• Process customer credit card payments and daily deposits as needed.
