Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Addison, TX is seeking a Project Accountant to lead financial administration for diverse projects. You will work with Project Managers, Engineers, and Executives to ensure compliance, track expenditures, manage invoicing, and oversee payables and receivables in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and at least 2 years of project-based accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the AEC industry or other project-based environment.
• Highly computer literate – especially with an ERP system (Deltek a plus) and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review project setups for all new projects and understand existing active projects.
• Monitor and communicate potential financial risks, including cash position concerns and unapproved change orders.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers and executives to monitor project performance.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, cost allocation, and percent-complete updates.
• Assist with month-end close processes, review project performance reports and assist accounting managers with Work in Progress and Billed in Advance.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and reporting standards.
• Review subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and invoice approvals.
• Forecasting project performance/revenue.
• Assist with Account receivable reconciliation when needed.
