Job summary

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) seeks a Project Accountant II to support the West Allis, WI office, handling general accounting, journal entries, and cost analysis for projects. This role focuses on ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting and accurate project accounting records.

You will partner with Project Managers and Contract Administrators to analyze costs, manage invoicing and cash flows, and support forecasts and audits. CPA/CMA preferred but not required to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years related project accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with project accounting, cost accounting, budgeting.
• Experience with large construction projects, power industry preferred.
• Strong communication with on-site personnel.
• Proficiency in Excel and data export/analysis tools.
• Ability to apply US GAAP principles and gather audit support.

Responsibilities

• Set up & maintain project records in ERP Project Accounting and tracking systems.
• Collaborate with PMs and CAs to analyze project costs and variances.
• Support invoicing and manageAccounts Receivable and project cash flows.
• Ensure accurate project cost accruals and review vendor invoices.
• Ensure revenue budgets align with contracts and estimates to complete.
• Apply ASC 606 and GAAP to revenue recognition.
• Prepare and reconcile project-related GL accounts.
• Contribute to monthly forecasts and financial reports.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Assist Operations Controller and finance team as needed.
