As the holding company for three Toshiba operating companies, TAI offers a wide array of products and solutions across the commercial, energy, and industrial sectors. Together with our subsidiaries, we form the Toshiba Americas Group, which is committed to technological innovation and excellence.

Our Commitment to the Future
At Toshiba America, we are guided by the principle “Committed to People, Committed to the Future.” This core philosophy shapes our strategies and actions as we strive to build a better, more sustainable world. In an era of climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality, we aim to ensure safety, security, and environmental stability for all.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, assisting with financial planning and analysis, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as an accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Why This Role Is a Great Opportunity:

This Staff Accountant role is well suited for an early‑career accounting professional who wants more than routine transaction processing. You will gain hands‑on exposure to month‑end close, balance sheet analysis, intercompany accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and SOX compliance.

You will support financial reporting and analysis that helps department leaders understand results against budget and forecast, while developing practical experience in a large‑scale ERP environment.

WhatYou’llDo:

  • Prepare month‑end journal entries and assist with the monthly close process.
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances and transactions.
  • Review business transactions for compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Support annual budget and monthly forecast preparation, including reporting formats for headquarters.
  • Provide actual versus budget and actual versus forecast comparisons to department leaders.
  • Prepare consolidated actual results for corporate departments.
  • Assist with year‑end audit, consolidation activities, and SOX compliance documentation.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc analysis that improve financial visibility and business decision‑making.

What Will Help You Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA‑track candidates are preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting, finance, audit, or public accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a strong interest in financial reporting, analysis, and controls.
  • Experience with a large‑scale ERP system; Oracle experience is preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Financial planning and analysis experience is a plus.

WhatYou’llGain:

  • Broad accounting experience across close, reporting, reconciliations, audit, GAAP, SOX, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Visibility to department leaders through reporting and actual versus forecast analysis.
  • Experience in a corporate accounting environment supported by established systems and processes.
  • Opportunities to build a strong foundation for continued growth in accounting, finance, audit, or FP&A.

Toshiba employees enjoy a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, generous 401(k) match, health and wellness programs, and generous time off.
