Job summary

LHH is partnering with a national construction company to scale their accounting team by adding a Project Accountant. Reporting to a Controller, you will own project accounting for multiple contracts and ensure accurate cost tracking, billings, and closeouts.

Responsibilities include managing billings, budget monitoring, variance analysis, vendor invoices, and supporting audits and reports. You will collaborate with project managers and field teams to keep records up to date and contribute to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, construction/project-based.
• Solid understanding of project accounting, job costing, WIP, AIA billings, % completion.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; Sage/Viewpoint/Procore a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of project accounting: setup, cost tracking, billing and closeout for multiple projects.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Monitor budgets, track actuals vs estimates, provide variance analysis to PMs.
• Process vendor/subcontractor invoices; ensure contract terms, insurance, lien waivers compliance.
• Assist with financial reports, job cost reports, and project status updates.
