Job description

  • Title: Project Accountant, Place & Finish Division
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Reports To: Director of Finance and Legal Compliance
Position Overview

Level Workforce is hiring on behalf of Ely Concrete Construction, a growing commercial construction firm, for a Project Accountant to run the financial engine of its Place & Finish division.

This is not an invoice-processing seat. The right person understands how costs move through a commercial construction project, notices when something looks wrong or out of scope, and says something before it becomes a problem.

You will code job costs, run the weekly AP cycle, manage monthly pay applications and lien waivers, track committed versus actual costs, and turn project data into the cost analysis leadership uses to make decisions - working directly with the Director of Finance and Legal Compliance and presenting to executive staff every month. The mandate: own the details, understand the bigger picture, and give leadership confidence that project financial information is accurate, timely, and under control.

In return, you get monthly visibility with executive leadership, a stable Monday-Friday schedule with a collaborative in-office project team, and real room to advance as the division scales.

About Ely Concrete Construction

Ely Concrete Construction is one of the Southeast's leading commercial concrete subcontractors - a Cartersville, Georgia company that has built its name since 2011 by taking on the toughest jobs in the business. The project list backs it up: data centers, cold storage, multifamily, healthcare, and industrial work: including projects like Amazon DAT8, AMLI Brookhaven, and Agile Cold Storage, performed through three specialized divisions (Structural, Place & Finish, and Pumping).

The culture at Ely is the same from the field to the office: hard work, accountability, and doing the job right, with people treated as the company's greatest asset - and foresight, anticipating problems before they arise, held up as an core value.

The Place & Finish division is growing, and it needs someone who brings the same precision to the numbers that the crews bring to the pour. As part of the Ely Corporation family of companies, this is a stable platform with real room to build a career.

Core Responsibilities
Project Accounting & Cost Control
  • Job-cost code vendor and supplier invoices
  • Enter accounts payable invoices and process weekly payment runs
  • Track committed and actual costs; identify discrepancies across budgets, invoices, commitments, and forecasts
  • Create, process, and track change orders across active projects
  • Partner with the Director of Finance and Legal Compliance on cost management, forecasting, and cost-to-complete analysis for multiple concurrent projects - flagging potential overruns early

  • Manage subcontractor onboarding and compliance documentation
  • Maintain organized project files and manage the project closeout process
