Job summary

BKF is seeking a Project Accountant to support monthly closings, invoicing, and project cost reviews. You will work closely with project managers and clients, ensuring accurate billing and reporting. The role offers hybrid-remote work with Oakland presence one day per week.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, experience in A/E industry preferred, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication. Deltek Vantagepoint experience is a plus, with competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel.
• Attention to detail with high accuracy.
• Ability to interface with project managers, clients, and architects.
• Deltek Vantagepoint Accounting system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review draft invoices for labor and expense charges; ensure accuracy with billing rates and ceilings.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill invoice support requests.
• Prepare project financial reports (e.g., WIP aging, AR aging, budget vs actual).
• Support project managers in project setup and maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and resolve project billing issues.
• Perform additional assignments as required.

• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual)
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill client requests for invoice support documentation

• Support project managers in project setup and project maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint

• This position will report to our Oakland office one day per week and the opportunity for hybrid-remote the remainder of the week.

• The typical base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $36.00 -$48.00 - an hour and will vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
