Outstanding non‑profit seeks a Project Accountant I to support the Housing Real Estate Department for approximately 6 months.
The objective of this position is to provide support to the Housing Real Estate department, with all accounting duties in conformity with established procedures for assigned development projects. This position will work closely with the Senior Real Estate Accountant to ensure the timely completion of project‑related accounting needs, including but not limited to construction draws, intercompany transactions, job‑cost budget tracking, and annual audits. The Project Accountant will also collaborate and cross‑train with the Project Accountant II. The position will also have to collaborate and effectively communicate with HRED’s project management team.
Specific notes on duties this person will be assisting with – Monitors and records all cash disbursements and cash receipts related to assigned projects, Maintains the general ledger for all assigned development projects, Prepares monthly draw packages for all assigned development projects, Prepare weekly check run for all project accounting development projects, Creates all journal entries related to assigned development projects, Manages the month‑end closing procedures
BA in Accounting from an accredited college with a minimum of three to five years accounting experience in a professional work environment. Experience in real estate construction accounting, loan draws, multi‑entity intercompany accounting required. Experience with tax credits & nonprofit affordable housing is a plus. Proficient with MIP software, SharePoint and mostly Excel.
We need someone local who can commit to a 9/8/80 work schedule one day a week in the office (every Wednesday). Work schedule is 8–5 pm M‑F.
