Job summary

RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is partnering with a growing construction firm to hire a Project Accountant in Texas. You will coordinate all phases of project costing, ensure financial accuracy, and support the Project Manager throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities include preparing monthly billings, reconciling costs to the budget, processing accounts payable and subcontractor payables, managing vendor compliance, and producing job-cost reports to monitor profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of project accounting experience preferred, ideally within construction.
• Strong accounting knowledge with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and analyze monthly project billings in accordance with contract requirements.
• Perform financial analysis and reconcile project costs versus the approved project budget.
• Process project accounts payable and subcontractor payables accurately and timely.
• Manage vendor compliance including insurance, lien waivers, retention, and W-9 documentation.
• Produce and analyze job-cost tracking reports to monitor project performance and profitability.
• Assist in preparing status reports and maintain accurate project information and budget data in COINs.
• Identify, research, and resolve routine and complex project-related accounting issues promptly.
• Support overall project risk management by maintaining proper documentation and compliance controls.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and team to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive financial information.
• Demonstrate the ability to prioritize effectively, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Perform additional project accounting duties as assigned.

This role is responsible for coordinating all phases of construction job costing, ensuring accuracy and integrity across project financials, and supporting the Project Manager throughout the full project life cycle.
