Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day GL accounting and support month-end processes.

• Execute tasks per documented workflows and procedures.
• Use Excel to organize, analyze, reconcile, and validate financial data.
• Support SAP ERP activities including implementation, testing, and verification.
• Assist with cost or inventory accounting as needed.
• Communicate progress and issues with the accounting team.

Position Summary

We are seeking a contract Accounting Professional to support day-to-day accounting operations during a critical SAP ERP implementation and testing initiative. This individual will perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial data analysis while working within established accounting processes and documentation. The ideal candidate can learn quickly, work independently, and contribute effectively in a fast-paced project environment. This is a temporary contract assignment with no expectation of permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting activities and support month-end accounting processes.
• Prepare account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Execute accounting tasks in accordance with established procedures and documented workflows.
• Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, reconcile, and validate financial data.
• Support accounting activities within the SAP ERP system, including implementation, testing, validation, and process verification efforts.
• Assist with cost accounting and/or inventory accounting responsibilities based on experience and business needs.
• Communicate progress, issues, and questions effectively with the accounting team and project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, including account reconciliations and journal entry support.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
• Ability to understand and execute accounting processes using existing documentation and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
• Proven ability to learn new systems and processes quickly while working independently.
• Comfortable working in a project-based contract position with a defined duration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in SAP, including SAP ECC or S/4HANA, is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, testing, system conversions, or process migrations.
• Cost accounting and/or inventory accounting experience.
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior contract experience or a demonstrated ability to quickly integrate into new teams and processes.
