Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in construction or related industry.
• Accounting, Finance, or Business degree required for future growth opportunities into Project Controller role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Vista by Viewpoint a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with various departments to ensure accurate construction project accounting.
• Enter and analyze job cost and billing data into accounting system from initial project setup to close out.
• Prepare monthly contract and time and material invoicing and change order requests.
• Review field logs and verify and prepare subcontractor pay estimates, review job cost reports, and investigate variances from estimates.
• Review, submit, and track data submittals.
• Additional duties as assigned.

About the Company and Overview of the Project Accountant Role:

• CFS is partnering with a construction client in Baltimore, MD. Due to growth, they are hiring a Project Accountant to work on site in their office in Baltimore City. This person will work with a small team and handle project set up/close out, contract invoicing, billing, job costing, and more. This role has great growth opportunities and this person will be groomed to step into the Project Controller within the next two years.
• Schedule: 100% in office in Baltimore City (21218). Potential for hybrid flexibility after training
  • Free parking in employee lot
  • Hours are flexible (7:30am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm) Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.
• Reports to the Controller
• Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 depending on experience

Job Responsibilities of the Project Accountant:
