The role emphasizes tuning tooling, reducing scrap, and coordinating with maintenance and QA teams to keep the line productive while following safety rules. A high school diploma and manufacturing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Reading drawings, tolerances and work instructions.
• Experience setting up dies, punches and transfer components.
• Ability to identify issues like misfeeds, tool wear or jams.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
• Experience with SPC/basic process control and defect identification.
• Previous machine operator experience in manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start, run, monitor, and shut down a progressive header safely and efficiently.
• Read specifications and verify part quality with inspection tools.
• Install, align and adjust dies, punches, cutters, and transfer components.
• Identify and correct issues such as misfeeds, wear or jams.
• Perform daily machine care and maintenance checks.
• Coordinate with setup technicians and quality/maintenance staff to resolve issues.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area and follow health regulations.
