Job summary

Weiss Industries in Ohio is seeking a Progressive Die Stamping Setup Technician to set up and run stamping presses, read blueprints, and verify parts meet specifications. You will move materials with cranes, troubleshoot issues, and coach other operators while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires hands-on experience with Laser, MIG, and TIG welding, strong mechanical skills, and clear communication in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced blueprint reading and parts inspection.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and verify measurements.
• Ability to set up, adjust, and run progressive-die stamping equipment.
• Excellent mechanical troubleshooting and containment planning skills.
• Clear communication in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience with laser, MIG, and TIG welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run stamping presses for single-hit and progressive-die jobs and related equipment.
• Rig and move coil and strip materials with cranes/hoists/tow motors.
• Configure scrap chute arrangements for safe material flow and waste handling.
• Verify parts meet blueprint specs and perform in-process checks.
• Read and interpret blueprints with accuracy to translate requirements into setups.
• Maintain quality via routine inspections and measurement verification; document results.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and sustain throughput.
• Run and monitor multiple machines concurrently to meet schedule and quality goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per company policies and safety standards.
• Develop and train fellow operators on setup techniques and quality methods.
