Tempco Manufacturing Company in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a skilled Set-Up Operator to perform expert setups and operation of large stamping presses, ensuring high-quality parts and tight tolerances. You will train Level I and II operators, stage material, and drive continuous improvement in safety and efficiency while maintaining 5S standards across a busy production line.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, routings, and instructions.
• Perform expert setups and operation of large presses for high-quality stamped parts.
• Install and adjust complex tooling: draws, forms, and progressive dies.
• Stage all materials and tooling to eliminate delays.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis on die/press issues; coordinate with toolroom and maintenance for corrective action.
• Recommend process changes that elevate efficiency, dimensional accuracy, and safety.
• Verify parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures; document results.
• Identify and label raw materials and finished goods accurately.
• Perform routine mechanical maintenance; maintain a 5S work area.
• Train Level I and II Set-Up Operators; capture and refine work instructions for consistent runs.
• Enter all production and quality data into the company’s data collection system.
• Follow safety procedures and compliance guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.

• Frequent hand use for handling, reaching, and operating equipment.
• Sustained focus for repetitive tasks across long shifts.
• Lift 25 lbs regularly; 50 lbs occasionally.
