Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s ES AMER ESS division in South Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Programming Tech on 1st shift. The role focuses on programming, proving out, and implementing machining processes that affect production across the facility.

You will fluently program CNC controllers, select tooling, design fixturing and develop standard work. We offer competitive hourly pay at $31.00/hr, shift premiums, overtime opportunities, and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5+ years of reading machining and engineering prints.
  • Minimum 5+ years of machine setup experience and fixture installation.

  • No relocation benefit; candidates must reside within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

  • Program, prove out, and implement machining processes that impact production.
  • Fluently program CNC controllers, identify tooling, design fixturing and complete standard work.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineer with department projects and improve processes.
  • Train or mentor machinists and maintain setup sheets and standard work documents.
  • Make programs and adjustments for CNC machines and troubleshoot programming issues.
  • Operate and maintain multiple machine types for trial runs and fixture creation.
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering and production planning to meet production demands.

The hourly rate for this position is $31.00 per hour. The hours for this shift are 6:30 am - 2:30 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Power Reliability Division is currently seeking an ME Technician to join our team. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility.

The department one Programmer is a machining subject matter expert that is responsible for programming, proving out, and implementing machining processes that will impact production throughout the facility. In this role, you will be expected to fluently program CNC controllers, identify tooling, design fixturing and complete standard work. You will be responsible for understanding various work processes and assisting the Manufacturing Engineer with projects within the department.

  • Assist or lead the training and development of other machinist as assigned
  • Maintain setup sheets and other standard work documents
  • Make programs and adjustments for CNC machines
  • Responsible for first line trouble shooting of programming issues
  • Operate and maintain multiple types of machines for trial runs, and fixture creation
  • Assist quality and engineering teams with troubleshooting, and new product development
  • Partner with production planning to align various work centers to meet production demands
  • Identify required tooling for new machine processes

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5+ years of reading machining and engineering prints.
  • Minimum 5+ years of machine set up experience and fixture installation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with operating G&M code CNC machines
  • Experience programming Fanuc controllers and editing G&M code
  • Formal technical training or degree in manufacturing trades
  • Experience with CAD/CAM and solid modeling software
Skills:

Position Success Criteria:

  • Ability to operate all workstations effectively
  • Ability to learn and operate in multiple machine cells
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and any shift as needed
  • Ability to assist in process creation, and standardization
