Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II for the 2nd shift at our South Milwaukee, WI facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment installation while maintaining safety and clean work practices.

Hourly pay is $33.80 with a $2.50/hr shift premium for off shifts and overtime opportunities. Benefits include health coverage, paid holidays, and weekly pay, with career progression opportunities across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum one (1) year of hands-on experience in manufacturing, military, maintenance, or a related technical field, or completion of an accredited Maintenance Technician certification program.
• Eaton will not sponsor CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
• No relocation benefit is offered; candidates must reside within 50 miles of the work location. Active-Duty Military candidates are exempt from the area limitation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery, equipment, tools, and components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Make necessary adjustments, repairs, and equipment modifications as required.
• Conduct general facility maintenance, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and related building repairs.
• Support the operation and maintenance of the in-house wastewater treatment system.
• Safely operate industrial vehicles and equipment for material handling, relocation and rigging.
• Assist with installation, setup, relocation, and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
• Perform basic electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain accurate, complete maintenance records and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment per EH&S standards.

The hourly rate for this position is $33.80 per hour. The hours for this shift are 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm.

Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do

Eaton’s Power Reliability Division is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic-II to join our 2nd Shift team. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery, equipment, tools, and components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
• Make necessary adjustments, repairs, and equipment modifications as required.
• Conduct general facility maintenance, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and related building repairs.
• Support the operation and maintenance of the in-house wastewater treatment system.
• Safely operate industrial vehicles and equipment used for material handling, machine relocation, and rigging activities.
• Assist with the installation, setup, relocation, and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
• Perform basic electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date maintenance records and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to all environmental, health, and safety standards. Actively communicate with team members to identify, reduce, and eliminate potential workplace hazards while promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum one (1) year of hands‑on experience in manufacturing, military, maintenance, or a related technical field, or completion of an accredited Maintenance Technician certification program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance from an accredited technical college or institution.
• Experience performing maintenance on industrial furnaces and related thermal processing equipment.
• Experience supporting maintenance operations within an injection molding manufacturing environment.
