Job summary

H2O Innovation in Ramsey, MN invites a Programmer, automation and controls to join our team for a permanent full-time position. You will design and implement PLC-based control systems, develop HMI interfaces, and support deployment at client sites.

The ideal candidate has strong PLC programming skills, documentation ability, and experience in hardware/software upgrades, with excellent English communication and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a similar automation role.
• Proficient with PLC programming and HMI development.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation.
• Experience designing user-friendly interfaces and robust tests.
• Capable of diagnosing and resolving system issues.
• Understanding hardware/software upgrades for automation systems.
• Strong English communication skills (oral & written).
• Experience planning and executing comprehensive system tests.

Responsibilities

• Program PLCs and HMIs for automated processes.
• Analyze user needs and craft programming plans.
• Create detailed technical drawings and schematics.

The Day-to-Day

• Program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and user graphic interfaces (HMI);
• Participate in analyzing user needs and developing programming plans;
• Design automated systems through technical drawings and schematics;
• Conduct testing and market deployment of programmed installations at our clients' sites;
• Assist our clients by creating user guides, technical manuals, and other tools to facilitate the understanding of automated systems;
• Perform upgrades and troubleshoot automated systems as needed.

The Skills We Are Looking For
