Job description

Programmer Analyst

Location: Chicago, Illinois, Hybrid/Remote

We are seeking a Programmer Analyst to develop, implement, and maintain technology processes for the Data Analytics department. The role involves researching and conceptualizing new programming and automation initiatives, coordinating with team and IT department to align technical processes with organizational priorities, and performing business and data analysis to enhance data and analytics capabilities.

  1. Hands-on coding and configuration with evolving technology tools.
  2. Identify methods for maintenance, enhancement, and automation of capabilities in collaboration with Data Analytics group.
  3. Analyze technical systems and applications, document findings, and propose solutions.
  4. Build front-end web interfaces for sharing and visualizing analytics output.
  5. Review programs for consistency, conformance with guidelines, policies, and industry standards.
  6. Maintain current knowledge of application systems and technologies.
  7. Serve as technical project liaison and provide expertise on Data Analytics projects.
  8. Assist in creating and automating Data Analytics capabilities and support data sourcing, transformation, and modeling activities.
  9. Understand complex information needs and communicate technical challenges effectively.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Quantitative Analysis, or related field, plus three years of hands-on technical development experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of systems development concepts, lifecycles, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data management/SQL concepts and languages.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PL/SQL, R, Ruby, C#, C++.
  • Understanding of relational database design and RDBMS query languages.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning processes and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with data model design, structured programming, system implementation, testing, database administration, and user training.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence stacks is preferred.
