Job summary

A leading aerospace company is looking for an experienced developer to maintain and modernize legacy applications in North Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in classic ASP, ASP.NET, and JavaScript, as well as strong skills in SQL and C#. This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full‑time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced developer to maintain, enhance, and modernize legacy Airplane Systems Computing Applications. The ideal candidate will be fluent in classic ASP and ASP.NET and comfortable working with a variety of legacy technologies including VB, Access, SQL, C#, and JavaScript. The role involves troubleshooting, sustaining production systems, adding features, and contributing to efforts to document and progressively modernize legacy codebases while preserving safety and regulatory compliance.

Working Conditions & Expectations
  • Ability to handle on‑call support and respond to urgent production incidents when required.
  • Willingness to work with legacy code and deliver pragmatic fixes while planning for longer‑term modernization.
  • Must adhere to company security and compliance policies; background checks or export control requirements may apply.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional development experience with demonstrable work in classic ASP and ASP.NET environments.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript for client‑side scripting and UI behavior.
  • Strong knowledge of C# and experience integrating .NET components with legacy applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with SQL: writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures and indexing strategies.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Access databases (forms, VBA, linked tables) and strategies for maintaining or migrating Access‑based solutions.
  • Experience with VB (VBScript in classic ASP and/or VB.NET) sufficient to maintain existing code.
  • Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills, including diagnosing issues across web server, application code, and database layers.
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., aviation, aerospace, defense, or other safety‑critical domains) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to document legacy systems clearly.
Location

Need to be in Charleston or Everett, Kent, or Seattle.

Pay Rate Range

Min Pay Rate: $75

Max Pay Rate: $80

Currency: USD

Unit: hourly
