Job summary

Electrosoft Services, LLC is hiring a Programmer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications across enterprise operations for federal customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, IT, Information Systems, or related field.
  • At least four years of software development experience.
  • Experience building, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, and database design concepts.
  • Knowledge of SDLC practices and methodologies.
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with REST APIs and application integration concepts.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity requirements and secure development practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Programmer

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications and program components supporting enterprise business and IT operations.
  • Write, modify, debug, and optimize code in accordance with established development standards and best practices.
  • Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain web-based applications, desktop applications, APIs, scripts, and software integrations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, systems engineers, architects, and stakeholders to develop effective technical solutions.
  • Perform software unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution activities.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and implement corrective actions to resolve defects and improve performance.
  • Develop and maintain database queries, stored procedures, and related data processing components.
  • Support application modernization and enhancement efforts to improve system functionality, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, performance, and compliance with development standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, code documentation, release notes, and implementation guides.
  • Assist with software deployment, release management, and production support activities.
  • Support system integration efforts between applications, databases, third-party services, and enterprise platforms.
  • Collaborate with testing teams and end users to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Maintain source code repositories and support version control processes using approved tools.
  • Support Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or hybrid development methodologies.
  • Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure software solutions comply with organizational security requirements, accessibility standards, and industry best practices.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and development tools to support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain software solutions supporting DHS and CISA mission requirements, including cybersecurity, risk management, compliance reporting, and enterprise service delivery capabilities.
  • Support application integrations with federal systems, cybersecurity platforms, and mission-support applications.
  • Assist in the development of automation capabilities that improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and service delivery outcomes.
  • Support modernization initiatives focused on secure, scalable, and resilient application development within Federal environments.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of software development experience.
  • Experience developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications and systems.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL development, and database design concepts.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
  • Experience working with source control and version management tools such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience performing software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Familiarity with web services, REST APIs, and application integration concepts.
  • Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity requirements and secure software development practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and/or Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) programs.
  • Direct experience supporting DHS/CISA application development, modernization, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Experience supporting Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM), FISMA reporting, vulnerability management, Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), or enterprise service delivery functions.
  • Familiarity with DHS and CISA operational environments, mission systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, CDM, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience supporting Federal Government IT programs or software development projects.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with Agile development frameworks and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security principles.
  • Experience supporting application modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, RSA Archer, or Salesforce.
  • Experience integrating applications with federal data sources, APIs, and enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Developer Associate, Security+, Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), or equivalent.
