Captivation Software is seeking a Software Integration Engineer 2 (On-Call) to support Linux-based Kubernetes clusters and the CASA Compute Environment. You will drive reliability, performance, and security for multi-tenant PaaS in a challenging mission-focused setting.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance and hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and IaC, with a strong Linux background and scripting abilities. Annapolis Junction, MD on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; 6+ years experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading COTS/GOTS software.
• 5+ years full-time CS experience directly related work; 6+ years of relevant COTS/GOTS software integration in heterogeneous OS environ.
• Experience with Linux CLI, containerization, Kubernetes, and IaC tooling.

• Administer, maintain, and provide operational support for the PaaS component of CASA Compute Environment (CCE).

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software integration engineer who shall be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE). The CCE provides secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, and highly available Kubernetes clusters operating within a Linux-based infrastructure. Tasking shall ensure platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance in support of mission and application requirements.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field at least six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
• The individual shall have five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman
• Demonstrated experience administrating and monitoring Kubernetes clusters
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Kubernetes workloads (ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.)
• Experience with IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible
• Experience writing, deploying, and maintaining Helm Charts
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus /Grafana
• Experience using Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

Desired Skills:

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies
• Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.)

• Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
