Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Programme Director to lead the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme (HHRP), a flagship scheme within the Government’s New Hospital Programme.

You will provide strategic leadership for end-to-end planning, design and delivery, steer governance and commercial management, and build strong partnerships across the local health system to realise a transformative vision for Hinchingbrooke.

We are looking for an exceptional Programme Director to lead the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme (HHRP), a Wave 1 scheme within the Government’s New Hospital Programme.

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to do more than deliver a major capital programme. You will help shape the future of our hospital, influence how care is delivered and leave a lasting legacy for our patients, staff and communities.

Joining at a pivotal stage, you will lead the programme towards completion of the Outline Business Case in Spring 2027 and into the next phases of delivery, working closely with our construction partner, Kier.

You will have significant visibility and influence across the organisation and wider health system, working with senior leaders, national partners, clinicians, staff, patients and local communities to turn our ambition into reality.

You will provide strategic leadership for the end-to-end planning, design and delivery of HHRP, leading the programme team and advisers to ensure the redevelopment is delivered safely, effectively, on programme and within budget.

You will lead programme governance, commercial management and stakeholder engagement, build strong relationships with our delivery partners and bring people together around a shared vision for the future of Hinchingbrooke.

Above all, you will provide the leadership, influence and direction needed to turn an ambitious vision into reality.
