Job summary

Manpower, Inc. is seeking a Programmable Operator to support robotic welding and CNC fabrication processes. You will program, set up, operate, and adjust machines to meet quality standards on 2nd or 3rd shift with overtime possibilities.

You will inspect materials, manage inventory, and coordinate with Team Leaders and Engineering Programmer to resolve safety, quality, and production issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience or related coursework on related machinery.
  • Prefer experience/knowledge of blueprint reading, AutoCAD, CNC programming, thermal cutting machinery, and welding knowledge.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English language instructions and documentation.
  • Strong math and reasoning skills, including basic geometry, problem-solving, and ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming material for quality specifications and quantities and manage material flow with cranes.
  • Operate robotic welder and CNC machinery, including programming, setup, and process adjustment.
  • Maintain inventory by labeling materials and entering work orders and packing slips.
  • Verify material details before loading and measure with calipers and micrometers.
  • Perform daily PM inspections and coordinate with Team Leaders and Engineering Programmer to resolve issues.

Job Title: Programmable Operator
Pay Range: $21
Shift:
2nd shift - 4 pm to 12 am - Monday thru Friday
3rd shift - 10 pm to 6 am - Sunday thru Thursday
*overtime is scheduled prior to shift start time and can be heavy, including Friday's or Saturday's depending on shift.
What's the Job?
  • Inspect incoming material for quality specification and quantities, then receive and issue raw material to and from saws, trucks, and storage areas using an overhead crane.
  • Take primary responsibility for working on the robotic welder and fabricating products using other CNC machines, including programming, machine setup, operation, and adjustment of process variables to meet quality demands.
  • Maintain inventory control by identifying and labeling raw material with proper identification, and complete accurate entry of work orders and packing slips into the main computer system.
  • Verify correct material details before loading (amount, size, gauge, and length) and use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to confirm accuracy.
  • Perform daily shift maintenance inspection per the preventative maintenance (PM) checklist, document labor and downtime on work orders, and coordinate with Team Leaders and Engineering Programmer to resolve safety, quality, production, and inventory issues.

  • Strong math and reasoning skills, including basic geometry, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and operating machinery on a three-dimensional basis; must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
