Join our dynamic and growing volunteer team – Volunteer with a Purpose!

Our Virtual Careers Learning Ambassador Volunteer works alongside our Director of Workforce Innovation Programs. This volunteer role supports the outreach and growth of our Blue Star Families Careers program, aligning with our mission.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Director of Workforce Innovation Programs, your support includes:

  • Completing volunteer enrollment, general BSF training, and social media training within the first two weeks.
  • Identifying an area of involvement that matches your expertise and passion.
  • Committing to a project for 4-6 months, dedicating approximately 2-5 hours weekly.

Additionally, you will:

  • Submit weekly volunteer hours and attend monthly staff meetings.
  • Lead short-term projects aligned with your career interests and Blue Star Career goals.
  • Post weekly updates in the Careers Community and encourage member engagement.
  • Expand BSF Careers’ visibility externally via local Facebook groups for military spouses and retirees.
  • Support the growth of Spouseforce and the Career Community through comments and engagement.
  • Share relevant virtual or local events with our network.
  • Build relationships with spouse networks on and off installations to increase membership.
  • Identify and communicate key community partners and installation contacts to the program director.
  • Refer potential candidates to our programs and community.
  • Represent Blue Star Families professionally online and in person.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Director and volunteer team.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development training with BSF Careers.

To qualify for this volunteer role:

  • You are familiar with the military family lifestyle and your local community.
  • You enjoy engaging on social media and within community networks.
  • You thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • You possess creativity, flexibility, resilience, and a desire for a drama-free work environment.
  • You understand this is a non-paid opportunity.
  • You are available to meet with the Director and provide project reports.
  • You are open to ongoing professional development training.
  • You can commit to approximately 3-5 hours weekly for up to six months.
