Position Details

Type: Volunteer; Remote (Stateside)

Overview: Our anti-human trafficking model focuses on transit monitoring, intercepting and assisting victims during transportation. We utilize actionable intelligence to aid police operations and have successfully intercepted over 27,000 individuals, aiding in the arrest of over 1,100 traffickers with a conviction rate of 35%. We rely on a data-centric approach, supported by our custom web application, Searchlight Human Trafficking Data Center, which is vital to our operations.

The Volunteer will help develop Searchlight’s features, including expansion to new fields. The commitment is flexible, with a minimum of 100 hours. Please include a brief cover letter and your resume with your application.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop new features for Searchlight to enhance data analysis and investigations.
• Maintain and improve Searchlight’s data collection and visualization interfaces using strong cognitive and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to social justice and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
• Highly self-motivated.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in full-stack development (preferably with Django and React or AngularJS).
• Excellent problem-solving, logical reasoning, and quantitative skills.
