Job description

Butler Hospital is seeking a talented and energized program therapist to treat patients in our Adult Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Partial Program. The CBT partial is our largest partial hospital program which treats adults ages 18+ who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mood-related symptoms. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician to work alongside highly talented Psychiatrists, Prescribing Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and other Program Therapists as part of our outstanding team!

Job duties include initial psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, outside collaboration with providers/schools, and family meetings. This role includes treatment of young adults, adults, older adults, patients in the LGBTQ+ communities, those on the Autism Spectrum, those with co-occurring substance use concerns, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, and other psychiatric disorders.

Schedule:

The program operates Monday through Friday, and the program therapist schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. While the primary role for this clinician will be our CBT partial, all therapists float on occasion to support other programs in need.

The role comes with paid time off, medical, dental, and other amazing benefits. Incentive pay beyond the full-time requirement is available but not mandatory.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in a related field required.
  • Licensure: Independent License preferred.
  • Training and Experience: Experience in a psychiatric setting is required. Training and experience in relation to the population served is necessary—particularly with specialty programs (ADP/Substance, WPP/DBT, YAP/ACT, OCD IOP/ERP) or continuing education/in-services in that area will be required. Experience in providing group and individual psychotherapy is required.
  • Special Qualifications: Interest and commitment to the programs at Butler Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown.
  • Mental Demands: Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, able to collaborate and work alongside a multi-disciplinary staff, and treat an acute patient population.
