Job summary

The USDA Farm Service Agency is hiring a Program Technician to support farmers, ranchers, and producers nationwide. The position offers on-the-job training across field-office functions, including clerical support and loan processing, with opportunities to work closely with Farm Loan Chief and district staff.

Locations in Texas include Franklin, Plainview, and Seguin, each offering exposure to loan documentation, customer relations, and program procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Farm Loan Chief, Farm Loan Branch specialists, Farm Loan team managers, and District Directors on farm loan program procedural matters.
• Participate in training to individuals and groups in the preparation and processing of loan documents and loan procedural changes.
• Provide technical assistance to the Branch team in processing bankruptcy and farm foreclosure cases.
• Prepare and discuss new promissory notes, terms, and deeds of trust with borrowers. Determine need for additional information or contacts as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Program Technician, you'll receive extensive on-the-job training to develop proficiency in all functions and operations of your assigned Field Office. These functions will include clerical support, loan processing and servicing, office management, general information, and public relations.

• Assist the Farm Loan Chief, Farm Loan Branch specialists, Farm Loan team managers, and District Directors on farm loan program procedural matters.
• Participate in training to individuals and groups in the preparation and processing of loan documents and loan procedural changes.
• Provide technical assistance to the Branch team in processing bankruptcy and farm foreclosure cases.
