Job summary

A nonprofit educational organization is seeking Credentialed Teachers to instruct K-8 students in English Language Arts and Math through the Cesar Chavez Migrant Program. This is a part-time, temporary remote position, with sessions conducted via Zoom after school hours. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and support migrant students through the Cesar Chavez Migrant Program.
  • Implement lesson plans and ensure the learning environment is organized.
  • Track and submit all data and reporting in a timely manner.

Job Summary

The Cesar Chavez Foundation has immediate openings for Credentialed Teachers who are energetic, strategic, and highly organized. Qualified individuals will instruct and support migrant students through our Cesar Chavez Migrant Program. Through this program, teachers will tutor K-8th grade students in English Language Arts (ELA) with integrated English Language Development (ELD) and/or Math in a small group setting. Instructional sessions will take place via Zoom, during afterschool hours. Fall sessions will begin October 6, 2025 with the possibility to continue into Spring and Summer sessions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain all ethical practices of the Cesar Chavez Foundation by serving the community with integrity, dignity, and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Implement the Cesar Chavez Foundation lesson plans, schedule, and calendars.
  • Ensure all instructional space and materials are organized and conducive to a learning environment.
  • Set healthy goals and behavior practices.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate all program activities and trends.
  • Track and submit all data and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned.
Education and Experience
  • B.A. or B.S. degree with a valid CA Teaching Credential
  • Experience working with students in grades K-8
  • Experience teaching literacy, math, and providing accommodations to ensure all students’ success.
  • Experience engaging and motivating students in a classroom.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel), Google, and Zoom required
Qualifications and Desired Characteristics
  • Possession of a valid California Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or emergency teaching credential (must provide proof)
  • Fingerprints and TB clearance must be met before assignment.
  • Access to computer or laptop and strong internet connection
  • Applicants must be available to teach for the duration of the program during afterschool hours
  • Strong and energetic communicator
  • Personifies the social justice ideals espoused by Cesar Chavez and embodies the ¡Si Se Puede! attitude fueling the Farmworker Movement.

Pay Range: $25.00-$35.00 DOE
