Job summary

Cesar-Chavez-Foundation is seeking credentialed teachers for an after-school Heritage program serving K-6th graders in Garden Grove, CA. Sessions run afternoons M-Th from 3:00 PM to 5:45 PM and in-person starting September.

Teachers will implement Engaging Hearts & Minds lesson plans and manage classrooms. Ideal candidates hold CA teaching credentials, have literacy instruction experience, and are bilingual in Spanish.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS with CA Teaching Credential preferred
  • Experience working with students in grades K-6th
  • Experience teaching literacy and providing accommodations to ensure student success.
  • Experience engaging and motivating students in a classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ethical practices and professionalism.
  • Implement lesson plans, schedules, and calendars.
  • Ensure instructional space and materials are organized for learning.
  • Set healthy goals and behavior practices.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate program activities and trends.
  • Track and submit data and reporting in a timely manner.

Through this After School Program, teachers will instruct K-6th grade students in a Heritage Program with lessons provided by Engaging Hearts & Minds. Sessions will be in person and will begin in September

JOB SUMMARY:

JOB SUMMARY: We have openings for Credentialed Teachers and Substitutes who are energetic, strategic, and highly organized. Through this After School Program, teachers will instruct K-6th grade students in a Heritage Program with lessons provided by Engaging Hearts & Minds. Sessions will be in person and will begin in September. M-Th from 3:00 PM - 5:45 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain all ethical practices of the Engaging Hearts & Minds by serving the community with integrity, dignity, and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Implement the Engaging Hearts & Minds lesson plans, schedule, and calendars.
  • Ensure all instructional space and materials are organized and conducive to a learning environment.
  • Set healthy goals and behavior practices.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate all program activities and trends.
  • Track and submit all data and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned. Summer

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree with a valid CA Teaching Credential preferred
  • Experience working with students in grades K-6th
  • Experience teaching literacy and providing accommodations to ensure student success.
  • Experience engaging and motivating students in a classroom.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel), Google

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Possession of a valid California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential preferred
  • Bilingual Authorization in Education preferred
  • Fingerprints, CPR, TB clearance, and Mandated Reporter training must be met before assignment
  • Applicants must be available to teach for the duration of the program
  • Strong and energetic communicator

COMPENSATION RANGE: Hourly rate $30.00-$45.00 based on qualifications and experience Job Types: Temporary, Part-Time Location: Garden Grove, CA
