Job summary

CPS Energy is seeking a Programmer/Analyst to support and enhance SAP-based processes, develop automated financial and project reports, and monitor operational metrics. The role requires collaboration with project teams and responsibilities across both IT and operations in San Antonio, TX.

Candidates should bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in teams.

Qualifications

Programmer/analyst experience in a field supporting and providing technical and analytical solutions.
Knowledge of programmer/analyst experience in a field supporting and providing financial and operational solutions.
Relative experience in program/project management for Operational Units.
Understands processes and procedures in specialized field.
Initiative to work independently or as a member of a team, coordinating with others to achieve desired results
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel.
Ability to meet goals and objectives with minimal direct supervision.
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to make recommendations and independent decisions.
High level of accuracy of work and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work in a team environment, coordinating with other areas to achieve goals and objectives.
Ability to work in a variety of locations such as the field, construction centers and the main office.
Ability to identify alternative solutions for development of decision-making proposals, which support organizational goals/objectives and budget constraints.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.

Responsibilities

Core duties focus on operational/tactical aspects with limited strategic scope.
Utilizes the SAP system for research, analysis and report writing.
Create automated financial and project management reports and validate output.
Track and monitor financial and operational metrics for management.
Manage business plan initiatives and create processes to streamline data collection.
Maintains and enhances systems to support operations.
Performs system administration duties of various software platforms and applications.
Analyzes and troubleshoots application/system operation and provides timely resolution.
Assists users in resolving system design issues and maintenance concerns.
Identifies improvements to increase efficiency.
Collaborates with management in managing financial efficiency.
Develops, maintains and presents process guidelines.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
Evaluates systems to ensure reliable operation and performance.
Performs other project and process improvement initiatives.
