Job Duties

Provides administrative and programmatic support to the Health Services Unit (HSU) in support of the unit and agency mission.
Updates and maintains records, files, and automated databases.
Maintains institutional health records in compliance with Institutional Operating Procedures and medical protocols.
Assists with scheduling health and therapy sessions and/or programs for inmates.
Prepares copies of relevant documentation, maintains files, emails documentation, and answers telephone calls for the Medical Unit.
Assignments to other duties or location may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to research and analyze data in order to reach logical conclusions and prepare routine reports
  • Experience providing customer service and administrative support to include word processing, filing, and other related duties in a professional office setting
Additional Considerations
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal documents and release/discharge documents
  • Administrative experience in a healthcare, criminal justice, court, or law office setting
  • Previous clerical experience in a medical environment
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems
