Raytheon is seeking an Program Supplier Assurance Engineer to support supplier quality for Defense Programs. This on‑site role partners with LEAD operations, inspections, nonconformance management, and supplier coordination to ensure quality across the supply chain.

You will work with Letterkenny personnel and third‑party inspectors to manage inspections, RTV actions, and data driven improvements, interfacing with global Supplier Assurance teams and ensuring flow down of requirements to sub‑tier

Job description

Overview

Program Supplier Assurance Engineer at Raytheon, supporting supplier quality for Defense Programs. This on-site role provides supplier quality support to Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) product integration operations, including inspections, first article verification, nonconformance management, documentation development, supplier coordination, and collaboration with global Supplier Assurance teams. You will work with Letterkenny personnel and third‑party inspection staff to coordinate in‑process inspections, manage containment for nonconformances, perform spot checks, respond to technical questions, and support Raytheon Source Inspection activities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform in‑process inspections and verification activities to ensure compliance with engineering requirements, specifications, and workmanship standards.
  • Conduct source inspections and execute AS9102‑compliant First Article Inspection (FAI) verifications.
  • Partner with Letterkenny staff to manage nonconforming material processes, including identification, documentation, disposition coordination, and communication with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve inspection checklists, job aids, and related quality documentation.
  • Support supplier requests for information and coordinate Return‑to‑Vendor (RTV) actions to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Develop, track, and report supplier quality metrics to drive transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with a global Supplier Assurance team and interface with feeder suppliers to support quality alignment, issue resolution, and adherence to standards.
  • Ensure flow down of product requirements to sub‑tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work; interpret and explain these requirements to ensure supply base compliance.
  • Drive continuous product/process improvements of the supply base using root cause analysis, Six Sigma, Lean, and other analytical tools; apply APQP processes for supplier performance and engagement.
  • Participate on multi‑functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement efforts; support containment activities for discrepant material.
  • Drive the supplier corrective action process, ensure containment, closed‑loop root cause corrective action, and communicate issues and resolutions to stakeholders.
Qualifications you must have
  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with one or more Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • Experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
  • Experience generating and presenting metrics to leadership and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.).
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ, ISO 9001 Auditor; experience with cables/wiring harnesses, electro‑mechanical assemblies, machined components, or final integration of end items.
  • GD&T knowledge; experience with SPC, APQP, PPAP, and continuous improvement in supplier settings.
  • Experience with special manufacturing processes and their management; First Article Inspection and AS9102 management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external partners, including international/global teams.
