Job summary

Raytheon seeks a Program Supplier Assurance Engineer to provide onsite supplier quality support for Letterkenny Army Depot product integration operations, including inspections, FAI verifications, nonconformance management, and supplier coordination.

The role requires active U.S. government security clearance and citizenship, with responsibilities spanning inspection planning, data analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement across global supplier teams.

Qualifications

  • University degree (or equivalent) with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
  • Active, transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in‑process inspections and source verification activities to verify compliance with engineering requirements, specifications, and workmanship standards.
  • Execute AS9102-compliant First Article Inspection (FAI) verifications.
  • Partner with Letterkenny staff to manage nonconforming material processes, including identification, documentation, disposition coordination, and communication with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve inspection checklists, job aids, and related quality documentation.
  • Support supplier requests for information and coordinate Return-to-Vendor (RTV) actions to ensure timely resolution.
  • Track and report supplier quality metrics to drive transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with a global Supplier Assurance team and interface with feeder suppliers to ensure quality alignment, issue resolution, and adherence to standards.
  • Ensure flow down of product requirements to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work.
  • Interpret and explain supply-base requirements to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Drive continuous product and process improvements by identifying supplier risk and performance issues and applying tools such as Root Cause Corrective Actions, Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical analytics.
  • Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and implement necessary engagements.
  • Perform defect data analysis and review findings with program managers and supplier management to develop improvement plans.
  • Participate in multi‑functional teams for problem resolution and continuous improvement activities, emphasizing Six Sigma, Lean, and analytical improvement methods.
  • Support containment activities for discrepant material and oversee the supplier corrective action process, ensuring closed‑loop Root Cause Corrective Action and communication to stakeholders.

Security Clearance

Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued “Secret” security clearance is required prior to start, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory to obtain a clearance.

Required Qualifications
  • University degree (or equivalent) with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
  • Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • Experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
  • Experience generating and presenting key performance metrics to leadership and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, and other industry technical standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ, or ISO 9001 Auditing.
  • Experience with cables and wiring harnesses, electro‑mechanical assemblies, machined components, or final integration of end‑item assemblies.
  • Proficiency with GD&T, statistical process control (SPC), APQP, and PPAP.
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action processes and special manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection and AS9102 management.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with customers or partners in an international or global setting.
  • Strong influence and presence in communication.

Compensation commensurate with experience (USD 86,800 – 165,200).
