Job summary

Brandywine YMCA is seeking a part-time Program Specialist to plan, organize, and lead pickleball classes at the Brandywine YMCA Family Location in Wilmington, DE. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and high-quality instruction.

You will design lessons for various skill levels, teach serving, rallying, and scoring, and promote the game to diverse communities. Prior experience in sports programming and program administration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
• 1-2 years of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing sports programs, preferably in an adult sports or recreation setting.
• Experience in program administration, including participant registration, event coordination, and resource management.
• Knowledge of adult sports programming, rules, and regulations for various sports.
• Understanding safety protocols, injury prevention, and risk management in sports programs.
• Knowledge of group dynamics and ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Design, organize, and deliver pickleball lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players.

Rate of pay: $18-$22. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.

Adult Sports Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading adult recreational sports programs and activities. The instructor will work with individuals or groups, teaching sports skills, promoting teamwork, and ensuring safety and inclusiveness for all participants.

Pickleball - responsible for teaching and leading pickleball classes, lessons, and clinics for individuals or groups of various skill levels. This role involves developing engaging instructional programs, promoting the game of pickleball.
