Job summary

San Bernardino County is recruiting for Program Specialists II who perform program and operational studies as an assistant to the department director or as a team leader over program development staff. The role also handles administrative tasks and monitors contract compliance.

The ideal candidate will have two years of full‑time experience in a similar role, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to lead projects. A Bachelor’s degree in a qualifying field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience as Program Specialist I with responsibility for at least three functions.
• Experience in research analysis, evaluations, and policy/procedure writing.
• Ability to review legislation/regulations and project impacts.
• Experience in data collection, organization, evaluation, and making recommendations.
• Project management and collaboration with stakeholders to plan, develop, and implement programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform program and operational studies and assist department director or lead program development staff.
• Monitor contract compliance and develop project plans/policies/procedures for agency programs.
