The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Specialist to join their team.

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is a dynamic organization at the University of Washington (UW). We believe everyone deserves to lead a long life in full health, and to help achieve that, we evaluate global health conditions, systems, interventions, and reforms. IHME Client Services is a UW social enterprise that generates funding for IHME by licensing access to IHME’s population health data and by developing and managing custom analytic projects. The individual in this role will be expected to support the expansion of our Client Portfolio. This will be accomplished in three main ways. 1. Successfully supporting existing client relationships. 2. Supporting the addition of new contracts for data and services from those clients. 3. Supporting the identification of new potential clients. The Program Specialist will work closely with other members of the team, as well as with IHME faculty and staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Identification and Marketing Support

  • Research client organizations and data users.
  • Research market challenges and opportunities.
  • Identify prospective data users.
  • Develop marketing materials.
  • Create relevant social media content.

    Client Support and Deliverable Production

  • Coordinate project work streams.
  • Synthesize information from Client meetings to formulate action steps.
  • Contribute to the development of project deliverables.

    Contracting, Pricing, and Documentation

  • Draft and revise concept notes, scopes of work, services agreements, amendments, and other legal documents.
  • Shepherd document editing between IHME Client Services and the legal and procurement teams within client organizations.
  • Support the development of costing and pricing.
  • Help develop a repository of templates, standards, and other documents.

    Learning

  • Become familiar with population health concepts; health sector business practices; and IHME research to understand the dimensions and uses of health data and analytics.
  • Learn client needs and support matching those needs against internal competencies.

    General

  • Participate in overall community of the Institute to help advance IHME’s mission of improving health.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that fall within the reasonable scope of this position as member of the team.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to business, marketing, public health, health care, communications, or life sciences and one to three years of experience.

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication skills and relationship management skills.
  • Detail oriented and deadline oriented.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on results.
  • Demonstrated ability both to think independently and to collaborate.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • The pay for this role will be commensurate with experience within a range of $6,250-$7,291 per month.
  • This role is eligible for all benefits offered to UW employees, including retirement, health care, paid time off, and family leave.
  • Must have a valid passport.
