Job summary

Architect of the Capitol (AOC) seeks a professional to provide property management and legal assistance support for AOC-leased properties. The role assists the Realty Specialist with day-to-day program administration and serves as a back-up to ensure continuity of services to the Office of General Counsel.

Job description

Position located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the General Counsel.

Selectee provides property management and legal assistance support for AOC-leased properties under the guidance of the Realty Specialist and legal counsel. Assists the Realty Specialist with day-to-day program administration and serves as a back up to provide continuity of services to OGC.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement.Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualifications Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions.It is available for your review on the OPM web site at http://www.opm.gov/qualifications. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Candidates for the (GS-09) grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-07) grade level in the Federal service.To qualify at the GS-09 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate (2) of the following (3):

  1. Monitor invoices and payments, and
  2. Monitor all procurements in the office
  3. Point of contact for maintenance calls and coordinates response to resolve problems for lease occupants.

or

Have a Master\'s or equivalent graduate degree or at least 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. To be qualifying, the higher-level graduateeducation must be in a major field of study with course workdirectly relatedto the work of this position;OR;

Have an equivalent combination of the above specialized experience AND higher level graduate education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

Candidates for the (GS-11) grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-09) grade level in the Federal service.To qualify at the GS-11 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate (2) of the following (4):

  1. Assists with administrative and legal management of the AOC's property needs, including the purchase and/or lease of property, license agreements, land or property acquisition, and planning.
  2. Manage office budgets, monitor invoices and payments, and oversees all procurements in the office.
  3. Assist lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, conferences in individual cases or transactions.
  4. Prepare required documents for property leases or disposal of real property as necessary.

OR

Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M. To be qualifying, thehigher-level graduateeducation must be in a major field of study with course workdirectly relatedto the work of this position;OR;

Have an equivalent combination of the above specialized experienceAND higher level graduate education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

Candidates for the (GS-12) grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service.To qualify at the GS-12 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate all of the following:

  1. Manage office budgets, monitor invoices and payments, and oversees all procurements in the office.
  2. Establishes and maintains case and transaction files.
  3. Assists with administrative and legal management of the AOC's property needs, including the purchase and/or lease of property, license agreements, land or property acquisition, and planning.
  4. Organize and track files for transactions and cases through case management database to prepare documents summarizing matters.
