Job description

Program Quality Engineer (PQE) – Advanced Technologies (AT) Strategic Business Unit

Location: Woburn, MA (Hybrid/on‑site)

Security Clearance: Active Secret or higher U.S. government‑issued clearance required.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the program execution team, ensuring successful program performance through conforming products and services via collaboration and compliance with processes.
  • Review and approve design artifacts and change requests to assess technical impact and quality.
  • Review and approve subcontract statements of work to ensure alignment with program requirements.
  • Assess technical risks of non‑conformance using critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Support and provide oversight for failure investigations and non‑conformance reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with cross‑functional partners and customers to ensure alignment and meet customer requirements.
  • Drive compliance with the Raytheon Quality Management System and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed‑loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability.
  • Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145, as applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, and/or operations.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience providing quality technical expertise to ensure effective design/development and/or manufacturing results.
  • Experience supporting remote site quality activities (material receipt, installation, integration test, sell‑off).
  • U.S. citizenship and active Secret or higher security clearance required prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience applying aerospace, commercial, defense, or space standards and internal policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Experience with contractual quality requirements on U.S. Government contracts.
  • Experience driving performance of major subcontractors, suppliers, and IOTs.
  • Experience with defense systems throughout the product life cycle.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with requirements, program functionality, and/or software releases.
  • Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCB), nonconforming material review / Material Review Board (MRB) and/or failure review / Failure Review Board (FRB).
  • Experience defining and analyzing quality metrics.
  • Experience collaborating cross‑functionally.
  • Experience assessing engineering work products to eliminate in‑phase defects.
  • Experience participating in test preparation and execution.
  • Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity management.
  • Experience utilizing data, quality science tools and facilitating cross‑functional teams.
  • RTX CORE, Earned Value, ASQ or Program Management certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
