Program Purchasing Buyer

Our client is a manufacturing organization involved in the design, development, and production of complex engineered components and systems. Known for its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and product optimization, the company serves a diverse range of industrial sectors through advanced research and manufacturing capabilities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Program Purchasing Buyer to support new product introductions and cross-functional initiatives. This role is critical in driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and timely product launches while collaborating with engineering, operations, and global procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead program-specific purchasing efforts, ensuring cost targets, quality expectations, and launch timelines are met
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve sourcing, timing, and cost-related issues
Execute sourcing decisions in alignment with procurement strategy and budget parameters
Facilitate cross-functional meetings to support design and development objectives from a supply chain perspective
Represent purchasing in program milestone reviews, status meetings, and project audits
Drive continuous improvement by identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements
Support supplier negotiations, RFQ coordination, and alignment with commercial terms
Perform additional duties as needed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
3-5 years of purchasing or sourcing experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking ability
Working knowledge of product development and launch processes
Familiarity with manufacturing methods such as molding, assembly, or machining
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems preferred
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
