Description

The Program Project Manager of Regulatory Affairs supports the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs with the implementation and coordination of critical projects, initiatives, planning, policy execution, and data analysis. They manage the Regulatory Affairs team’s core operating mechanisms and support leadership with compliance accountability across the district. They develop and lead priority projects—implement policies, monitor and share metrics, coordinate training, and track the team’s progress. They ensure teams are prepared for charter authorization and comply with state requirements, managing projects that foster continuous improvement and organizational value for stakeholders, students, and families.

Location

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas, with preference for candidates in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations

  • Travel within the region as needed (approximately 10% of the time).
  • Travel to IDEA training events or other required visits may be necessary.
  • Remote work when not traveling.

Essential Duties

  • Manage compliance projects and partnerships.
  • Oversee systems and tools for state-wide/authorizer-specific requirements (e.g., AskTed, Qualtrics).
  • Collaborate on projects including reporting, charter monitoring, compliance calendar, and issue management.
  • Develop project management plans, manage activities, schedules, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, time management, and technical writing skills.
  • Coordinate with educators, leadership, and stakeholders.

Additional Duties

  • Research compliance requirements with partners.
  • Lead subject matter experts to create resources and action steps.
  • Address gaps and produce clarity, efficiency, and action.
  • Provide tactical counsel to ensure alignment and communication.
  • Identify and surface discrepancies to ensure successful implementation.
  • Coordinate compliance planning and execution with stakeholders.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor certification required.
  • Data management and reporting skills.
  • Experience with Wrike.

Preferred Experience

  • Project management in education or large organizations.
  • More than 5 years of project management experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary position.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, kneel, and use hands.

Salaries typically range from $63,400 to $73,300, based on experience and qualifications, with performance-based pay.
