The Aging and Disabilities Department (AD) serves the growing population of older adults, dependent adults, and individuals with disabilities in Los Angeles County. The department offers a broad range of services aimed at fostering dignity, independence, and overall well-being. Through compassionate and intentional support, AD ensures that individuals can live fulfilling lives within their communities, maintaining the highest quality of life possible. We partner with non-profits, community-based organizations, commissions, and other government agencies to provide services such as social, educational and recreational services, training and education programs, accessibility services, wellness and nutrition programs, emergency preparedness and response programs, home-delivery meal services, in-home visiting programs, crisis intervention, legal services involving fraud, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other issues that pertain to the older and dependent adults in the community.
One (1) year of experience at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Project Supervisor, Community Services*, or higher, responsible for the development and/or implementation of community development and older adult services or related programs**.
Three (3) years of experience at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Community Center Director I***, or higher, one (1) year of which must include supervision during the last three (3) years, participating in the development and/or implementation of community development and older adult services or related programs** or in departmental administrative support functions.
Three (3) years of experience in a highly responsible administrative capacity**** analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of problems of organization, financial services, human resources, or information technology, one (1) year of which must have been at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Administrative Services Manager III*****, directing or assisting in directing an administrative, human resources, financial services, or information technology program unit in the service of Los Angeles County.

We provide study guides and other test preparation resources to help candidates prepare for employment tests. While the guides may help in preparing for the test, we recommend reviewing all related materials that seem necessary.
Applicants who passed the assessment are placed on a list for a period of six (6) months. We will use this list to fill vacancies in the Department of Aging and Disabilities as they occur.
