Job summary

VWI seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee hospital housekeeping operations for a multi-building medical campus in Salt Lake City, supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and streamlined service delivery.

You will supervise housekeeping activities, ensure Regulated Medical Waste handling, and coordinate with cross-functional teams across shifts, campuses, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in housekeeping, including 3 years in general housekeeping and 2 years in hospital housekeeping.
• Availability 24/7 via telephone or pager.
• Experience managing large multi-shift teams.
• Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field preferred.
• Government contracting program or project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide managerial oversight of hospital housekeeping, general housekeeping, and Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) collection for a multi-building medical campus in Salt Lake City in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Coordinate housekeeping operations and ensure compliance with healthcare standards across shifts and facilities.
• Lead and develop multi-shift teams to deliver reliable, safe, and compliant services.

What You'll Do

Provide managerial oversight of complete hospital housekeeping, general housekeeping, and Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) collection for a multi-building medical campus in support of our customer, the Department of Veteran Affairs, at George E. Wahlen Medical Center Campus: 500 S. Foothill Blvd. Salt Lake City, UT 84148.

What You'll Have

• 5 years' experience, which includes at least 3 years' managing general housekeeping and 2 years of specific hospital housekeeping experience.
• Available, via telephone or pager, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Experience managing large multi-shift teams.
• Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field is preferred
• Government contracting Program or Project Management experience preferred.
