Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a Program Manager (Vacuum Automation) to lead NPI projects through the full lifecycle, aligning schedules, resources, and risks with product and engineering teams.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration, manage changes, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality and cost targets. Occasional travel may be required, with a mix of in-office and remote work where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 6 years of program management/engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional hardware programs.
• Experience with NPI, phase gate governance, design release, prototype and production ramp.
• Proficient in MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned NPI programs through full product development lifecycle, including initiation, phase gate readiness, design release, alpha/beta builds, production readiness, customer shipment and closure.
• Develop, maintain, communicate integrated program schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource needs, risks, and recovery plans.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to translate business objectives, customer requirements, and technical scope into executable program plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure Deliverables are completed on time and meet exit criteria for each phase.
• Identify, document, and manage program risks related to schedule, resources, cost, scope, quality, and ROI.
• Drive mitigation planning and escalation when commitments are at risk; ensure issues are visible and actively managed.
• Manage scope changes through formal change control processes and communicate impacts clearly.
• Facilitate regular program meetings, reviews, phase gates, and executive status updates.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Manage scope changes through formal change control processes and ensure impacts to schedule, cost, resources, and customer commitments are clearly understood.
• Facilitate regular program team meetings, stakeholder reviews, phase gate reviews, and executive status updates focused on priorities, blockers, decisions, and recovery actions.
• This role typically operates in a fast-paced, cross-functional technical environment and may require periodic travel to company sites, customer locations, supplier locations, or manufacturing facilities to support program execution, issue resolution, production readiness, and customer commitments.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience in program management, engineering, product management or another related field.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to execute successful hardware product solution programs.
• Experience or strong working knowledge of NPI (New Product Introduction) processes, phase gate governance, design release, prototype and production builds, verification readiness, and production ramp requirements.
• Proficiency with program management and productivity tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and related reporting or dashboard tools.
• Experience with customer-facing programs, customized product development, product life cycle management, or production transfer activities.
• Experience managing schedules, resource plans, risk registers, action trackers, change requests, and executive-level program reviews.
• PMP Certification is a plus.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $132,456.81 USD to $179,206.28 USD

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
