The role leads the team delivering GA-ASI’s training devices, including the SkyGuardian Mission Trainer, and manages budgets, schedules and customer communications. The position requires advanced engineering or related field education with extensive program administration experience, strong leadership and cross-functional coordination.

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a experienced Program Manager to join our MQ-9 Training Systems team in Poway, CA.

This Program Manager performs the role of the Manager of MQ-9 Training Systems which includes both customer and internally funded projects. This supervisory position is responsible for the team which develops and produces GA-ASI’s training devices – centered on the SkyGuardian Mission Trainer.

Duties include developing SOW requirements, Program Budget Allocation, Sales Order/PR Approval, Financial Management, Cost Reports, LOC/LOF Letters, Program Management Plan and Revenue forecasts. The Team’s responsibilities include coordination, funding and management of contract efforts with Software, Engineering, Manufacturing, Contracts, Inter-Division, Finance, Cost Reporting, subcontractors and GA-ASI Test/Flight Centers.

Assesses project issues and develops solutions to meet budget, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Able to direct and manage all aspects of an assigned project. As the Training Products Manager, the position is the key communication point with the Customer, preparing both written and oral communications, on program status, objectives and issue resolution. May accomplish tasks through subordinate staff and/or management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Integration of all MQ-9B training product demand. Responsible to deconflict resource challenges, product development and meeting product demand timelines.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to employees working on assigned project.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Create project plan(s) and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained.
  • Oversee and monitor project schedule, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals.
  • Assign and monitor work of project management staff, providing direction when necessary.
  • Management of CAE subcontract to deliver next generation simulation effects.
  • Management of concurrent customer and IR&D funding.
  • Coordinate departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Identify and assess project issues and develop solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Involves both DCS and FMS proposal development for international customers.
  • Interpret and administer policies, processes and procedures that impact project(s).
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering, science or a related technical field as well as eleven or more years of progressively complex program administration experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of program management principles, concepts, and practice as well as program management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of technologies across program requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 112,320 - 205,058
