Job summary

Columbia University is seeking a Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of multiple Student Affairs programs within the Climate School. The role plans, implements, and administers student government, funding programs, and alumni initiatives, ensuring compliance with University policies.

The Program Manager will develop SOPs, manage communications, monitor budgets, and coordinate appointments and events, collaborating across the Climate School and broader University to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; 2–4 years in higher education administration, program management, communications, or related roles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; ability to organize data using spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams in a complex academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages day-to-day operations of Climate School student government and student organizations following Columbia University policies.
• Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and guidance materials for student organizations.
• Advises student leaders on policies, procedures, and funding requirements; resolves routine operational issues.
• Coordinates regular meetings between student organizations and Climate School leadership; tracks action items and follow-ups.
• Monitors student organization budgets, processes payments and reimbursements, and reconciles expenditures.
