The Opportunity...
The Storage Program Manager is responsible for leading GRID Alternatives’ efforts to support client participation in the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) and other battery storage initiatives. This role focuses on the strategic and operational management of GRID’s storage programs, ensuring successful implementation of residential battery storage projects, particularly those paired with solar through DAC-SASH and SGIP. The Storage Program Manager plays a key cross-functional leadership role, working with internal departments, affiliate offices, and external stakeholders to align efforts and meet program goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Storage Program Oversight
- Oversee the management and execution of GRID’s work related to battery storage projects through SGIP and related initiatives.
- Track and manage project progress, including delays, pipeline distribution, and necessary staff follow-up.
- Assign projects across the team to balance workload and meet deadlines.
- Stay informed about current and emerging storage programs and pilots relevant to GRID’s mission.
- Provide escalation support and oversight to participating regional offices and affiliate teams.
Internal Coordination and Training
- Lead bi-weekly Storage Rollout meetings; coordinate follow-up tasks and issue resolution across departments.
- Partner with Outreach, Construction, and Accounting teams to improve interdepartmental processes and resolve bottlenecks (e.g., invoicing, rate/tariff navigation, DR enrollment).
- Oversee training for new program administration staff, including development of standardized materials and onboarding processes.
Program Implementation and Reporting
- Act as the responsible party for GRID’s internal SGIP-related activities, ensuring compliance with program requirements and internal objectives.
- Collaborate with GRID’s DAC-SASH solar teams to pair solar projects with battery storage opportunities.
- Manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, and deliver accurate programmatic and financial reports to stakeholders, including CPUC Energy Division.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Change Management
- Coordinate efforts across GRID’s internal departments and regional offices to support successful implementation of storage projects.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead the implementation of refinements to enhance program effectiveness.
- Address challenges proactively and implement strategies to increase storage program impact.
People Management
- Supervise program administration staff supporting battery storage work.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and goal-oriented work environment
- Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.
Where you will sit & the places you may go…
This position may require 10%-25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary pay commensurate with experience within the pay band
($85k- $90k annually), plus the benefits listed below.
