Job summary

Northern Trust in Montgomery, Alabama, is seeking a Program/Project Manager to lead large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives delivering data, interoperability, and strategic business outcomes across multiple units.

Program / Project Manager

Scope: The successful candidate is responsible for managing large scale, enterprise-wide programs that deliver critical strategic business, data, and interoperability capabilities across multiple business units.

Responsibilities
  • Manage implementation of complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and ambiguous issues.
  • Align resources, oversee budget, create project plans, and track key milestones, risks, and dependencies using Scaled Agile Methodology.
  • Communicate program objectives, risks, issues, and status to all organizational levels.
  • Facilitate cross‑discipline coordination for decision making regarding scope, prioritization, and issue resolution.
  • Mentor BA team and drive resolution of issues with operations teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate with third parties, executive sponsors, senior management, and cross‑business unit stakeholders to ensure efficient program delivery.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders and third parties.
  • Deliver regular progress reports presenting concise, accurate status of the program.
Required Experience
  • Highly motivated, team player, self‑starter able to work independently.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, negotiate, and manage conflicts with gravitas and credibility.
  • Financial industry knowledge.
  • Experience working with Agile release trains.
Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of Asset Servicing Custody business.
  • Strong understanding and experience of trade life cycle.
  • Experience managing cross‑program dependencies, interoperability and data.
  • Awareness of Swift messaging standard.
  • Knowledge of T2S.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira.
